The Essential NLP Practitioner’s Handbook is consistently the best-selling book on Amazon UK and USA for NLP Practitioners who want practical hands-on advice about how to take their classroom learnings effectively and efficiently into professional practice.

See what others have to say:

  • “I loved this book from the moment I began reading it. After 10 years in the NLP Coaching business, and despite excellent training in this field, I still found a superb range of really practical, logical and stimulating information within it. Whilst cover-to-cover reading is something I recommend, this book is rarely far from me as a ‘dip-in’ encyclopaedia of support for my practice. It chunks up and down appropriately throughout the book to offer the reader advice, and answers so many of those questions that arise in coaching practice. It’s been a great review prompt for me in my work and from contracts to ethics, charging to phobias, weight loss and smoking to IBS and onto ‘the resistant client’, this book does it all. You really don’t need anything else whether you are starting out, or want an informed review tool for your existing operation. I thoroughly recommend this to practitioners in this field or those considering a career in this area.”

  • “As an NLP and hypnotherapy trainer, I shall be suggesting all my students read this book. It bridges that gap between theory and practice effectively, and will give people the confidence to use their new found skills.”

  • "First things first, this is a genuinely useful book for any NLP graduate who wants to set themselves up as an NLP coach/practitioner. It is not another book that introduces NLP or covers the NLP techniques; it is instead a book that covers the practicalities of creating your own NLP coaching business, The handbook is an easy read, written in a very 'chatty' style. Indeed, the author is utilising conversational NLP with you as the reader, often speaking to you directly as if she was in the room with you. It appears that the author is a natural at eliciting positive states in others with an engaging sense of humour. You will most probably find yourself enjoying the fun play with Eriksonian language patterns as you read! The author seems to walk her talk and an aspect I particularly like is her offering options instead of telling you what to do. This captures the spirit of NLP in that 'one option is no option, two options is a dilemma and three or more options create choice'. There are also plenty of pertinent questions that you will want to ask yourself (and answer) if you are going to become a self employed NLP practitioner. Having run many NLP practitioner courses myself, I would certainly recommend this book to those who are seeking to take their career in an NLP direction."

  • “This is an amazing book. Starting off quite tense and uncertain that I could run a practise of my own. However, after a few pages of reading I could physically feel my body and mind relaxing as I read it. Increasingly optimistic, with creepings of confidence developing, I started seeing how I could apply the teachings and advise given in the book to my own life and in fact, applications to any business not just setting up an NLP practise. Its a really exciting read! Well worth the money and time to read it, and its the kind of book you go back to from time to time.”

  • "This is a truly wonderful book. I read it from cover to cover (as a KIndle version) and back again.
Having qualified in Hypnotherapy and the fact that it was written by a woman (Hooray!!!) really appealed and I wasn't disappointed. Lots of useful info on running your practice. Tons of advice on different client scenarios. How to actually RUN your practice (as opposed to have your practice run you!). Murielle has a nice, enthusiastic 'voice' which I found genuinely motivating. She tells us some of her own experiences and adds in plenty of helpful advice for the new-practitioner and also for those more experienced. It would be fab if this sort of book was routinely given out to new recruits to help them in their first fledgling months:). I LOVED chapter 12 : SELECTING SUITABLE CLIENTS. If this is the ONLY chapter you read, you'll be a fluffy, unstressed practitioner with a healthy practice. If you're a newbie, GET THIS BOOK. If you're an oldie (in practice for more than 15 years like me) GET THIS BOOK!"

  • “As a personal development coach focusing on building up my practice, I had been encountering problems as to the image my business portrayed. I have read many personal development and self-help books in the past but The Essential NLP Practitioner’s Handbook resonated with me on both a personal & business level. Murielle’s practical guidance, thought provoking questioning and user-friendly style convinces the reader that she is writing with you in mind and you cannot help but be excited about your own possible business potential. I am now well on my way to developing my niche as a career change coach and I have Murielle to thank for pointing me in the right direction!”

  • “As someone who is interested in NLP but has no qualifications in it – I found The Essential NLP Practitioner’s Handbook very interesting and easy to read. In particular, I found the chapter on Extreme Responses personally useful in helping me to understand how I did panic attacks and how to take control of my mind and physiology.”

  • “This book is an essential guide to all Therapists & Coaches wanting to set up and run a successful business. In a highly competitive market only those Practitioners that achieve success with their Clients will thrive. Murielle has provided excellent guidelines of a practical nature that you need to know and follow to avoid wasting time, energy and money in developing your business. In addition to this valuable guidance there is also a wealth of psychological information that is essential for anyone working in this industry. Therapists and Coaches need an appreciation of the underlying psychological influences in order to effectively work with a wide range of presenting conditions. Murielle provides this knowledge in a practical, usable and helpful way that you can refer to at any time. She also urges Practitioners to broaden their own horizons through developing themselves, their model of the world and an appreciation of the contributions other models of healing can make. Written in a style that is inspiring, captivating and to the point, at last there is a book that shows you how to achieve excellent results.”
Helen K Emms (Psychologist, Peak Performance Coach & Author of ‘Achieving Peak Performance in Tennis’)

  • “There does not appear to be another book on the market that offers such a comprehensive overview and practical steps on how to go from being a “knower” of NLP to an actual therapist or coach running their own practice. The book is designed in such a way that when reading it one becomes increasingly more confident and excited with each chapter, until at the end you know you have learned what is needed to take the plunge and start your own practise. Even the niggling doubts… like ‘yes I’ve learned the techniques but how will I be able to handle real people, with real issues and the responsibility that comes with that’: specific chapters in the latter half of the book, offer practical guidelines and examples, on how to deal with the most common and challenging issues that the Practitioner is likely to face in their practice.”
